| Established
in 1978, the Baltimore Inner Harbor Flotilla 19-5SR has been dedicated to providing the opportunity for
residents of Baltimore and the surrounding area to experience the
benefits, challenges and educational experiences offered by
membership in the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary.
From
the boundaries of the Baltimore Inner Harbor and beyond Fort
McHenry to the Francis Scott Key bridge, Flotilla 19 has
upheld the high standards of the USCG Auxiliary and contributed
service to the nation by holding water
safety education courses, performing search and rescue
missions, and participating in Coast Guard Assistance missions.
Support
of the United States Coast Guard is evidenced by flotilla member
participation in Aids to Navigation documentation, Vessel
examinations for recreational boaters, Port communications and
security, Search and Rescue and Training.
In
addition to the above activities, this flotilla is dedicated to
active participation in Baltimore
Inner
Harbor festivities
and community activities for adults and children. The United
States Coast Guard Auxiliary prides itself in the support of boating
activities, waterway education, port security, and assistance to
the nations emergency communications network. We welcome
those who are interested in volunteer service to their country and
to their community. |
