** National Commodore Performance Vessel Safety Checks 2006 awarded to Flotilla 13 – Top 40 in the U.S. **

Flotilla 13 was authorized at Mill Creek, Maryland on 29 May 1974. Every year since, our members have been very active and dedicated to the basic cornerstones of the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary: Operations, Vessel Examinations and Public Education.

The first meeting took place on 29 May in a member's house in Severna Park and was represented by seventeen members including the first Flotilla Commander and Vice Commander.

Since then, the Flotilla has prospered and grown and currently supports Six Vessel Facilities, Four Radio Facilities, Eight Instructors, Eight Boat Coxswains, Six Boat Crew, One Quailification Examiner, One Recreational Boating Safety Visitor, and Nine Vessel Examiners. Members are also active in other various types of U.S. Coast Guard support activities.
